Monster Camp (2007)
Continuing with my RPG kick, tonight I watched the documentry Monster Camp on Netflix. It's about this LARPing group in Seattle that play the game NERO.
Not as fun as Darkon, this movie is still good if you're a fan of RPG or curious about it. I wish it was longer than 82 minutes because as soon as you're familiar with the world, everything changes and the movie ends.
I give Monster Camp a 3 out of 5
Interpol – Interpol
Remember when Interpol released their first single from their new album, "Lights"? I do to, and while I was hesitant about it, I was still looking forward to hearing new music from the band. Then came the news that Carlos D left the band on strange terms, next that weird ass video. The whole time I’m trying to convince myself that they haven’t become too full of themselves to make good music. Ignoring Paul... ahem... Julian Plenti’s solo album which was... exactly what this promo picture calls it.
Don’t worry though, this is a return to form they said. No more experimental garbage, back to the good stuff. Back to Turn On the Bright Lights. Maybe they forgot what TOtBL sounded like, if that’s the case let me help you out... it sounded damn good. Interpol does not sound damn good, not even close. I’m hoping that with multiple listens it’ll grow on me, there have been many albums that have done that to me over the years but as of right now it sounds like nothing but droning sounds and Paul’s echo-y vocals. I understand how hard it can be to recreate the magic of something wonderful like their first album but this new one just feels forced and I’d rather listen to something completely different than a forced lame attempt on something great.
I suggest you grab a digital copy of the album from someplace like Amazon
but wait till it’s on sale for $3.99.

Dudes, today I meet Danzig!
I sadly did not win the tickets for GWAR last night, so I had to skip out on that concert (and instead continued to pack up my apartment) but I did find out that today at 2:30pm Glenn Danzig will be doing a signing for his new album at my favorite record store, Vintage Vinyl.
There is a catch, we have to buy his new album but that's really not that big of a deal for me. I'm going to try and get my picture taken with him today. ALSO today is Art All Night in Trenton, NJ. I think after meeting Danzig and before going to his concert we may head over there and check out some cool local artists. Maybe next year I'll think about painting a giant version of Alzheimer's Robot.
Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to give you guys a review of all of today's events. Stay tuned!

oh, sorry for the lack of updates. In addition to moving, I'm doing a bunch more work at my job which means when I get home I pack and crash. Though tonight I'll be moving my TeeeVeeee first so I have less distractions. I'm hoping that'll get me to move my stuff even faster!
